History of the Organization
Sigma Alpha was founded in 1978 at the Ohio State University by five women who wanted an alternative to the social Greek sorority system. Since that time, Sigma Alpha has become a national organization consisting of more than 80 chapters, comprised of undergraduate and alumni members. Today, more than 11,000 members have been initiated into Sigma Alpha Sorority. We're growing steadily as others in agriculture learn about us.
Sigma Alpha is a professional agricultural sorority that furthers scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship among its members. You'll find Sigma Alpha members standing out as leaders on their campuses, in the workforce, and within their communities. We are dedicated to the motto: Cultivating Professional Women in Agriculture.

History of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter
The Alpha Epsilon chapter was chartered in 1997 at the University of Wyoming. We are a group of diverse women from across the country and hold different backgrounds and majors who have come together over a passion for agriculture. We support the National philanthropy of Ag in the Classroom, as well as our own chosen philanthropy Heifer International. We do a number of events over the course of the year and are continually working to diversify and expand our events and connections.
Our Chapter Goals
- Strengthen past traditions and start new ones to build upon the Alpha Epsilon Chapter legacy.
- Become the friendly, engaging and welcoming face of agriculture on the University of Wyoming campus.
